The 18th century BCE Akkadian Atra-Hasis epic, named after its human hero, contains both a creation myth and a flood account, and is one of three surviving Babylonian flood stories. The oldest known copy of the epic of Atrahasis can be dated by colophon (scribal identification) to the reign of Hammurabi's great-grandson, Ammi-Saduqa (1646--1626 BCE), but various Old Babylonian fragments exist; it continued to be copied into the first millennium. The Atrahasis story also exists in a later fragmentary Assyrian version, the first one having been rediscovered in the library of Ashurbanipal, but because of the fragmentary condition of the tablets and ambiguous words, translations had been uncertain. WG Lambert and AR Millard, Cuneiform Texts from Babylonian Tablets in the British Museum, London (1965) published many additional texts belonging to the epic, including an Old Babylonian copy (written around 1650 BCE) which is our most complete surviving recension of the tale. These new texts greatly increased knowledge of the epic and they served as the foundation for the first English translation of the Atrahasis epic in something approaching entirety, by Lambert and Millard (Atrahasis: The Babylonian Story of the Flood, Oxford, 1969). A further fragment has been recovered in Ugarit. The surviving Atrahasis epic is written on three tablets in Akkadian, the language of ancient Babylon.

So is it possible that some in power now are direct decedents of the "Gods" or are put in the positions of power by them? Its MIND BLOWING how they had detailed information about our solar system 6000 years ago????? I have felt very drawn to this subject for some time now. I used to think David Icke was a madman maybe he isnt.. Is there an actual archive translated in to English of the Library of Ashurbanipal? Love your vid thank you!!
This is for shaudee67 1st part music is Mozart's piano concerto # 23, Adagio, I'll try and "Share" it by using your pen name. Diana
@asachildtobecome - absolutely !! also conquerors add their twists as well.
All mankind never means EVERY single person. A myth is either a story as metaphor, or a story of an actual event passed through many generations and told in the "mood" and culture of subsequent civilizations. By then, it becomes an Epic. Added embelishments give lost history enough spice to keep it alive!
Click on my username sapiensape (in blue, appeneded to this comment box) for 16 videos on Eden's pre-biblical origins in Mesopotamian myths including Noah's Flood being a recast of the Shuruppak flood of 2900 BC. appearing in Atra-Khasis and Gilgamesh.
Those are excellent observations, Sapiensape, and I agree with them completely.
Oracle, What is the name of the piece at the beginning of this video and who is the composer? Is it Beethoven? It sounds like Beethoven... I know the second is Moonlight Sonata but what is the first? By the way, it is perfect background music for the "tale".
No, they are proof of bullshit.
i will try thank you for your comments!!
the flood tale of Mesopotamia's Tigris and Euphrates River was passed in through myth and was embellished upon to become a legend. Much like Johnny Appleseed
These accounts are proof of evolution. the original tale of a "great flood" was a tale of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers swelling horrendously one year. 6000 yrs later the tale tells that the world was under water in the great myth called the flood tale. The tale evolved from an account, to a myth.
Liberal PhD scholars (1862-2009) understand Genesis has recast the Mesopotamian myths via inversions to deny these myths' explanation of why man was created, why a flood. Man is a sinner because the gods he is modeled after are sinners: they shed each other's blood, murder fathers, mothers, incest with children, lie, cheat, steal. The world is evil because of the immoral gods, not immoral man. Genesis denies all this, shifting blame from God to Man. Google mattfeld bibleorigins net for more info
I just merely view these as historical accounts and further proof against evolution.
See, the one inconsistency that I have with all of this. Is that this story; the insurrection of the Annunaki against Enlil and the subsequent creation of mankind to do the work instead ALL must have happened before the Deluge (Noah's flood, which is obviously a retelling with subtle changes from the Sumerian version) How could this knowledge be passed and saved and recorded post Deluge? Message me if you have any ideas.
Another very nice educational piece I really enjoyed even though I already am familiar with the texts & background. I've read quite a bit of your posting & can't believe that I finally find someone I agree with & your answers are very enlightened & your patience far greater than mine with the ignorant. Keep up the good work! Most excellent!
Too bad that when Anu touched you, he didn't improve your spelling ability.
Watch how monkeys behave socially, i think the "evil" you speak of is primal savagery. We can see this in our "10 Commandments" Stealing food from another is a primal trait, scavenging. Coveting your neighbors wife is nothing more than Alpha male dominance.
And we wonder where war and evil comes from. If we (Humans) are half this god races DNA well..there's your answer for who is evil...The Gods that our DNA shares this form with. Read all the war and read the reasons for war.. Emotional, insecure, beings these gods are.
Are you sure you couldn't have fixed the caps?
you're not an oracle at all, you're a fool who does too much homework and dwells on misconceptions of the truth.

i just finished the video...first time i ever heard this story. i wonder first, who made the gods? where are they from? why do they have the duty of whatever duty they fell compelled with? and how do these duties coincide with the duties of the other gods? who created those gods with the ability to know of each other?
Thanks!
