Upgrade iMac G4 17" 1Ghz to 2GB of memory and 500 GB hard-drive. Parts used OWC 1GB PC2700 DDR 333MHz CAS 2.5 184pin / OWC 2700 PC2700 DDR SO-DIMM and 500GB Western Digital ATA hard drive. The iMac came with no hard drive and no hard drive cable! So I used an old PC IDE cable and tried to stuff the drive in so many ways. The hard drive recognize only 465.76 GB of the 500 GB why have no clue ? Sorry for the ruff editing made to fit youtube 10 min rule. Apparently 500 GB = 465.76 GB the capacity advertised by hard disk drive manufacturers isn't the real drive capacity.
